This does not surprise me – and I see the decision to cancel as a real opportunity. Our Presbytery has reached a place where we need to intentionally connect with each other – beyond the old, “used to do it this way” means and in addition to the social-networking (Facebook, Twitter etc) that we engage. Something new, something fresh, something daring – - I’d like to find some folks out there who would be willing to sit down and talk about how to stir things up a bit. I’ve always believed in the importance of (what Harvey Cox used to call) the “seduction of the spirit.” We, none of us, are involved in church work, ministry, outreach, pastoral care because it is exciting, fun or profitable. We come to it because we have been lured, driven and called. So now, must our Presbytery call us home. I’d like to be a part of that exploration. Let me know if you can use me – or if you want to be of use in this journey.
