“Nurturing Generosity”
The 29th Annual Rural Ministry Conference is scheduled for March 7-9, 2010 at the Dubuque Best Western (Sunday evening) and Wartburg (Monday through noon on Tuesday.) The theme of the conference is Nurturing Generosity.
The Rural Ministry Conference: Where leaders in rural communities and congregations gather to gain insight and inspiration, to network and neighbor that our ministries might be empowered. This year, we focus on the theme of nurturing generosity: releasing God’s abundance in a time of perceived scarcity. The following speakers and workshop topics will be featured:
- Rev. Dr. Paul Baglyos, ELCA Region 3 Coordinator, former director of Center of Land and Theology and rural ministry professor at Wartburg Theological Seminary
- Bill Northey, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture and farmer
- Dr. Ann Fritschel, Professor of Hebrew Bible, Wartburg Theological Seminary
- Rev. Connie Burkholder, Spiritual Director, Heartland Center for Spirituality. Former district executive of Northern Plains region, Church of the Brethren
- Rod Nilsestuen, Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection
