“The Land Called Holy: Too Much Religion? Too Much Promised?” 

The Presbyterian Church of the Apostles of Burnsville invites the community to hear Mr. Charles P. Lutz speak at the adult forum on Sunday, January 16, 2011at 9:00 a.m.  Mr. Lutz, a journalist and activist, will speak on the Palestinian and Israeli conflict and current U.S. policies.   He is well qualified to speak on this topic.  During the last decade, Lutz has led groups to the Holy Land and co-authored with Robert O. Smith, the book Christians and a Land Called Holy:  How We Can Foster Justice, Peace and Hope. 

            Lutz is the Minnesota coordinator for CMEP, Churches for Middle East Peace, a coalition of 23 churches.  CMEP works with other churches’ advocacy as well communicating with Senate and House offices to promote stable Middle East relationships and a possible two state resolution.  (CMEP website).

            Locally, Lutz is a member of the Minnesota Advocates for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (MAIPP) group.  MAIPP members, people of Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths, advocate justice, respect and the peaceful coexistence of all societies.
