Call to Stated Meeting

| June 29, 2011 | 0 Comments

In accordance with Book of Order, Form of Government G-11.0200, and the Bylaws of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area, Article I, The Presbytery will meet in stated session, 4:00 p.m., on July 12, 2011, atThe Associated Church, 800 Havana Road, Owatonna, Minnesota.

Preceding the meeting, at 2:30 p.m., a Pre-Presbytery event will be presented by The Rev. Doug Kelly, Regional Representative, Board of Pensions, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

At 3:00 p.m., all ministers and elders new to the Presbytery, or attending for the first time, are invited to an orientation led by the Stated Clerk of the Presbytery, Elder Nancy Grittman.

Registration and fellowship will begin at 3:30 p.m.

The worship committee is planning a different format for the worship time at this meeting.  Also, there are several committee reports.  The Church Development Team will be making a presentation, along with the Board of Trustees and Presbytery Council, to request approval of Presbytery to offer a purchase agreement on property selected by the task force for the future building site of Chain of Lakes New Church Development in Blaine, Minnesota.  This is an exciting time for the Presbytery as plans continue toward launching a new congregation.

The Associated Church very graciously agreed to host Presbytery in July, with a very short notice, due to an emergency which resulted in the cancellation of the plans previously made.  This gesture of hospitality is very much appreciated.  One hundred twenty-five meals (12 vegetarian) have been ordered.  Tickets will be sold on a first come-first served basis, for $7.00.

The next Presbytery meeting will be hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church, Austin, Minnesota, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.
