Preparation for Ministry

Co-chairs:  Luke Roske-Metcalfe and M. Joy Smith
Meets the 4th Monday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in South St. Paul, MN.  Two full-day retreats (December/May) are held for Seekers, Inquirers, and Candidates each year.

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) provides for the care and oversight of persons exploring and preparing for ordained Teaching Elder in the PC(USA). We are pleased that you have found this site, and hope that it will be helpful to you as you explore your sense of call.

We are committed to exercising prayerful care for both those who are preparing for ministry and for the church as a whole. This is a rigorous and demanding process for inquirers and candidates, as well as for the members of the CPM. It is at the same time a deeply gratifying and important work. We pray that as you consider the possibilities of ordination, or work with those who do, you may experience the grace of God, the presence of Christ, and the discernment of the Holy Spirit.

Do you feel a sense of call? Check out the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) resources on vocation.

All forms for CPM can be found at the Presbytery’s Forms Page.
