Pastor of First Presbyterian in Moorhead on the Flood
Minnesota Public Radio interviewed Nancy Emerson, the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead, MN yesterday about the flooding situation. The church is only a few hundred yards from a sandbag dike that is trying to keep the rising waters of the Red River from spilling over. MPR notes that Emerson has been visiting the homes of parishoners who are worried about losing their homes to the rising waters. Here is what she said about the current situation:
“But we also have the attitude that what happens will happen and we’ll be there for each other no matter what…That’s the best of who we are, we promise to walk with each other. We trust that we will be okay. We know people will be with us for the long haul.”
