motus-worshipMOTUS Worship: An ExtemporeBlitzkriegGuerillaFlashMob Worship Gathering

Friday, April 17
7:30- 9PM
Lutheran Church of the Reformation, St. Louis Park

All of a sudden, we’re a church, you and I.

On Friday, April 17th, let’s just get together and worship Jesus. Sound good?

Who Are We?
————-
Our congregation will only exist for one night, but it will be made up of people of every time and every place. Our space won’t belong to us – we’ll swoop in and make a graceful exit when our time is over. We’ll try to do some good for the community while we’re there, but we’re not sure how yet. You’re welcome to join us, no matter where you think you belong. No strings attached.

What Will Happen?
——————
Your expectations should be small and enormous — we’ll make music together, hear the good news of Jesus, and expect the unexpected.

We will meet in the Sanctuary of Lutheran Church of the Reformation in St. Louis Park, MN. Music will be provided by a variety of local musicians. Our message will come from the Holy Spirit and the brain of Jay Gamelin, pastor/missionary to the Ohio State University, author, and child of God. As other details for the event come up, we’ll post them here.

Why Are We Doing This?
——————–
Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of all. That being said, Jesus deserves more than we can give, but focused, communal worship is a good place to start. It’s only right.

It started as a “why not?” thing, but thinking more about it, we realize that a lot of people we know in the Twin Cities and outlying areas are church workers. From experience, we know what this can mean — that in a church setting, you have a role, distractions, annoyances, and sometimes you don’t get to worship. Here is a chance.

One of the challenges here lies in seeing how many people we can invite to this event within its short gestation period of two weeks. So, we need help. The best way to get a strong choir is for you to invite a handful of friends, and then speak to them in person about it. We think that you’ll get the chance to invite other people as the date gets closer.

For directions, we’d suggest you visit the website of the Upper Room Community (http://www.upperroomcommunity.org/directions.php). Their site has great directions and parking ideas for the space we’re using.

And that’s all we know. We’ll worship together on April 17th. Could be big, could be small, could be great, could be God-awful. But let’s try.

Over and out.
