An orientation for new pastors, and elder commissioners attending for the first time, will begin at 3:00 p.m.  A time of hospitality and fellowship, hosted by the Church, will begin at 3:30 p.m., as will registration.<br />

Please note that the Docket presented for approval is quite different, in that Council is asking that the Presbytery meetings be framed in a worship setting.  The order will be in reformed format, with items of business placed throughout as they are appropriate to the portion of the service.  This is a &#8220;new thing&#8221; for the Presbytery, and your comments will be welcome. There will be special music presented by the various musical groups at Presbyterian Church of The Master.  The Sacrament of The Lord&#8217;s Supper will be celebrated.<br />

Presbytery Council will present the selected theme for the coming year, &#8220;Affirm Local Congregations:  Build Spiritual Energy Through Nurture&#8221;.  The Six Great Ends of The Church<br />
will provide our guide, as one of the &#8220;Great Ends&#8221; will be the emphasis of each Presbytery meeting.  Beginning at this July, 2009, meeting, the first Great End, &#8220;The proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind&#8221; is the theme for the day.  Each meeting agenda will include a time for small-group discussion, with proposed questions and resources.  Presbyters will hear from one or two churches each meeting, as they share thoughts on the movement of the Holy Spirit in their congregations.<br />
 <br />
Dinner for 150, at $7.00, will be available (including 12 meatless meals).  Tickets will be sold in the registration area. <br />
 <br />
Directions to the church follow.  There is ample parking, plus an auxiliary area at a nearby school if needed.  A shuttle bus will be provided.<br />

<p><strong>Red Wing, MN</strong> &#8211; The Rev. Jin S. Kim and Vince Gin were chosen to be Moderator and Vice Moderator respectively at the Annual Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area, held Tuesday May 14 at First Presbyterian Church in Red Wing.</p>

<p>Rev. Ki<a href="http://www.presbyterytwincities.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/presbytery-meeting-011009-0032.jpg"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-417 alignright" title="presbytery-meeting-011009-003" src="http://www.presbyterytwincities.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/presbytery-meeting-011009-0032-150x150.jpg" alt="presbytery-meeting-011009-003" width="150" height="150" /></a>m is the Head Pastor of Church of All Nations Presbyterian Church in Columbia Heights, MN, a multicultural congregation started in 2004.  Vince Gin is an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Hudson, WI.  He has served on the Presbytery Council in the recent past and headed the Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee in 2008 which resulted in choosing the Rev. Chaz Ruark to the Executive Presbyter for the PTCA.<span id="more-416"></span></p>

<p>Other highlights from the meeting include, the reappointment of Nancy Grittman to a three year term as Stated Clerk.  Grittman has served in the position of Stated Clerk of the PTCA since 2006. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Disabilities Concerns Taskforce held a special presentation during the  meeting on ministering to returning veterans.  A panel including retired pastor Roger Ezell, a </p>
<p>Vietnam veteran,  and the Rev. Donald Milloy talked about the need for congregations to be more mindful of ministering to returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as their families.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The next Stated Meeting is Tuesday, July 14 at Presbyterian Church of the Master in Coon Rapids.  The meeting starts at 4:00PM.</p>
